Week 17

Tuesday:  This week we studied the letter I.  We talked briefly about how "I" can say it's name or say "ihh".  The students thought of things that began with "I".  We did polygon shape puzzles, the kids did these really well.  We tried the puzzles the 2nd week of school and nobody could do it!  It is fun to see them make progress!  We also talked about the heart.  We practiced putting our fists together and pretending to pump blood through it.  We pretended to run a race and made our hand pump faster and slower.

Thursday:  We studied the lower letter "I" and bones today.  We read several books about bones, we looked at x rays and matched them with body parts.  We also made our own x rays by tracing our hands and using cue-tips as bones.  We added two bones to our body charts, but we talked about how we have bones in every part of our bodies.
