Tuesday: Imagination part 1
We started with our morning routine and added "I'm a little teapot". We also pretended to be different animals. We talked about how we can use our imagination to create. I asked them if airplanes had always existed, they said no, someone had to imagine it! For our Yes/No question I asked who has the letter C in their name? We then created monsters using spooky eye stickers. We created imagination glasses so we could imagine new things for our world. We then pretended to be pirates and went on a treasure hunt in the house! We battled sharks, other pirates, and cannon balls but we finally found the treasure! Everyone took home some gold and jewels.
Thursday: Imagination part 2
We reviewed types of imagining: inventing, pretend play, creating art, writing and reading stories. We sang "One, Two, Buckle My shoe" for the first time. We looked at "progression pictures" that reveal one detail of the picture at a time so the kids can guess what it will be. We had a review day where we went over some of the things we have learned so far. I drew the shapes we have covered: triangle, circle, square, oval, star, and rectangle. We also did a running game where I taped the letters A-C uppercase and lowercase on the wall. We sat across the room and I took turns asking each child to run and find a letter. It was so fun! We did our songs and made magic wands. We then took turns waving our wands and turning each other into animals. What a fun day with those kiddos!
