We had such a fun day! Thanks to the friends who brought snack to share for our feast. The kids decorated their places at the table and took turns saying please and thank you for the snacks. We talked about the pilgrims and made pilgrim hats. We also played pin the tail feathers on the turkey. We also reviewed all the letters we have studied so far. We did a difficult uppercase to lowercase letter match. Each child needed help completing this, but it was a kindergarten level activity. Everyone did their best work! We also sang "turkey trot" where we put our left wing in, etc. to the tune of the Hokey Pokey.
Tuesday: I can be Giving
The theme for December is, "I can be giving" we are talking a lot about how fun it is to give presents, and that they do not have to cost money. The best presents are things we can do for others. Each kid made a special present for Christmas. We also spent a lot of time practicing writing out names of our family members. It was terrific writing practice. The letter of the day was uppercase F. We also read Caps for Sale and More Caps for Sale. They are some of my favorites and were both hits with the kids!
Thursday: Christmas is for giving
Today we introduced some new songs into our morning routine. I made some jingle bell shakers and we used those to sing "Jingle go the bells" and "Jingle bells". My photography skills are at an all time low and I am forgetting to take photos during preschool! We read Imogene's Antlers (my absolute favorite as a kid) Isaac mentioned it was also his favorite when he was a little boy--haha! We made christmas wreaths which was good gluing practice.
